changes...

On the episode of Everwood tonight, one of the doctors asked his fellow doctor if he even remembered what it was like to be as care-free as a young patient of his. The friend responded "I wish I could...but no." At first my thought was, how sad is this? And then I tried...and myself could not truly remember what it was like to feel like there was nothing that a chocolate sunday couldn't fix...nothing that some good times with friends trading baseball cards or reading G.I. Joe comic books couldn't vanquish. I couldn't...really...and I thought...how sad? But upon retrospect...I don't think I'd trade it, knowing now what I now know. I wouldn't go back to all of that now. As our years increase in number, so does the intensity of and our ability to experience the emotions that living brings to us. While some of these emotions bring us pain...in my eyes they are eclipsed by the intrinsic joy that's felt when one first discovers love. And I mean REAL love.

Relationships are not to be about having someone to live your life for, but someone to share your life with. The only one we should truly live our lives for is God.

Love isn't having arms to depend on when storms clouds circle, it's having a hand to hold to walk through the storm together.

Love isn't having someone to run to and give the joy of the moment to, it's having someone to experience that joy with.

God must be the first one we cry to...the first one we laugh with...the first one we go to with our needs. We are given each other...our relationships in order to share life with...to walk through life with mutually holding God's hand. Everything in the life of a Christ-follower must be about balance...perspective...maintaining a well-disciplined life style focused on seeking God's blueprint for each and every day. Today, right now, may you seek {for I know you will find if you only will} the ever-fullfilling -- ever-satisfying -- all encompassing Grace of God.
